Recently we started our front facade repairs project at 35-54 80th Street in Jackson Heights. The project includes cutting and repointing mortar joints, replacing bricks throughout the facade, patching cracked sills/lintels, and repointing limestone cracks. The project just recently started and will take a few weeks to complete. Please check back in a few weeks to see updated pictures from the project.
We recently completed the job at 482 Broome Street. The project took a couple of months and included the following:
- Brick and stone cleaning (removal of paint from brick and stone)
- Stone ledge and windowsills repairs and pointing
- Brick and stone pointing
- Cast iron repairs
- Sheet metal cornice and pillar repairs
- Prime and paint all windows and doors (1st floor)
- Sand stone repairs and patching
- Brick replacement
- Window restoration
- Fire escape repairs and painting

The project at 166 East 34th Street has been progressing well, despite the poor weather conditions in the past few months. While there is still plenty of work to be done, the majority of the project has been finished. As you can see in the pictures below, the new concrete steps and handicap ramp have been built along with the new stair tread installation. The project is into its last phase and should be completed soon.
In May 2013, in agreement with S.W. Management, Bulado General Contractors Corp. began the façade and chimney/parapet restoration at 3010 Valentine Avenue, Bronx, NY. The project, expected to last slightly over a year, included roof replacement, parapet replacement, and various others scopes of work listed below.

IV. PROBLEMS & SOLUTIONS
We went into 3010 Valentine knowing it was a challenging project; one could observe cracks running the height of the building about 4’ from each corner, giving the illusion of falling brick panels. Before doing any explorations we decided to demolish the parapet walls (part of the scope of work) and thereby remove pressure from the corners. When probes were finally performed we observed severe corrosion of the steel from which the window lintels hung, requiring us to reinforce the columns with ½” welded plates. The new brick panels were installed with expansion joints and stainless steel slip-set stabilizers. When corners protrude significantly there can be severe temperature variations along a brick wall; inadequate provisions for expansion and contraction can lead to severe cracking, which is what the design team hypothesized was the building cracking culprit. The new expansion control system in place will allow the building to respond to temperature fluctuations in a way that preserves the integrity of the building.
Located in the heart of Manhattan, the Murray Hill Manor located at 166 East 34th Street, is one of the newest exterior restoration projects Bulado General Contractors has been entrusted to work on. The project is still in its early phase, but will include the following scopes of work:
- New waterproofing system installation
- Building of new planters with all required waterproofing and protection
- New brick pavers on plaza & ramp stairs
- New stair tread installation
- Building new concrete steps and handicap ramp
- New brick veneer on planters
- Laying copings at corners
